Many saints have written about prayer. They have explained how we can pray with our body to " press towards God with increased fervour " . But, St. Dominic did not write about it... he did it.
Dominic was praying with his body.
We know this because Brother Rudolph saw him many times praying in the church " standing on the tip of his toes with his hands raised in prayer " .
The Brothers of his congregation were hiding in the church to watch him pray. The more they were watching, the more they were discovering his praying secret.
Long after his death, they described the NINE ways St. Dominic was praying. These ways do not tell us everything about Dominic's prayer. They are some keys that can unlock ways to access prayer.
Let's never be too tired to watch Dominic pray, and prayer will become like a permanently burning fire in us.
